Foamex Sign Printing

Marketers have long extolled the virtues of Foamex board, a type of expanded PVC which is extremely tough and durable.  Ever seen funky-shaped, hand-held signage at shows, events and festivals?  They are likely to be made of Foamex (Or corrugated plastic board)  

Although it is possible to cut these into magnificent shapes, you don’t have to do that.  Foamex can be used to print all sorts of signage from branding and exhibition stands, craft fairs or markets to providing way-finding solutions and Guerrilla marketing.

We love these as custom shapes, for example, ice cream menus printed onto Foamex cut to look like an ice cream cone or as a reusable hand-held marketing prop -  think an oversized Polaroid.

Foamex signs are also really great as part of the marketing mix for a small business launch, as a simple sign can be printed up for around £20

If you’re after a custom-cut Foamex board, you'll need to overlay a 100% magenta vector cutting guide. The cutting guide must consist of one solid keyline with no cutouts.

Foamex Design Printing Tips

Please supply your artwork as a CMYK PDF:

• Scale of 1:1

• Include 3mm bleed on all sides

• Supply as a CMYK PDF, preferably in PDF/X1a format

• Outline or embed fonts

• 150dpi resolution

Drill Hole Guidelines

• Drill holes are 5mm wide.

• If all sides of the part are 400mm or more, drill holes will be placed 30mm from the edges.

• If any side is less than 400mm, drill holes will be placed 15mm from the edges.

• Make sure to keep important design elements away from these drilling areas.

Custom shape boards  

If you require cutting to a custom shape, please supply your file in the following format:  

• Artwork for print 

• Cut path – A 100% Magenta spot colour named Cut contour with the line weight set to 0.25pt.  

All paths should be stroke paths and contain no fill.
